Action Button

Open Grok Bot in one press

Best-effort steps for iPhone 15 Pro and later (Action Button). Menus and app names change with iOS updates; adjust if yours look different. No App Store build from Studio Harrison: you wire your own Shortcut to the Grok or X app you already use.

Goal: hold the side Action Button and land in Grok (or your pinned Grok Bot thread) without hunting through home screens.

Before you start

  • iPhone with a physical Action Button (15 Pro / Pro Max and newer Pro models).
  • Grok available on your phone, usually the X app (Grok tab) or the standalone Grok app if you use it.
  • Apple Shortcuts installed (built into iOS).

1 · Pick your open target

Use one URL in the Shortcut below. Try in Safari first; keep whichever opens Grok reliably.

  • X / Grok on the web: https://x.com/i/grok
  • Custom Grok Bot or agent link from your provider (paste the HTTPS link they give you).

2 · Build the Shortcut

  1. Open ShortcutsCreate a new shortcut. Name it something obvious, e.g. Open Grok.
  2. Add Open URLAdd the action Open URL and paste the link from step 1.
  3. Optional: open the X appIf the web link opens Safari but you prefer the app, add Open App → X before or after the URL step, or use an Open X action if your Shortcuts library shows one.
  4. Test from ShortcutsTap the shortcut once in the Shortcuts app. Grok (or your bot) should appear.

3 · Assign the Action Button

  1. Settings → Action ButtonOn the iPhone, open Settings and find Action Button (only on supported models).
  2. Choose ShortcutSet the press action to Shortcut, then pick Open Grok (or whatever you named it).
  3. Press to confirmPress the Action Button once. You should get Grok without extra taps.

Troubleshooting

  • If nothing happens, open Shortcuts and run the shortcut manually. Fix the URL or app step first, then re-assign the Action Button.
  • Face ID or passcode may appear before the shortcut runs; that is normal.
  • Focus modes can block shortcuts; check Focus settings if the button works only sometimes.
